Nikki Fisher-Gigault (pronounced: ghee-go) founded her interior decorating firm in 2011. After graduating nearly a decade ago from the Interior Decorating program at Sheridan College with honours and earning a Canadian Decorator’s Association (CDECA) award; she started NFG Designs part-time while working beyond her day job as a kitchen designer to bring full interior design and decorating services to clients who were already utilizing her talents in the custom millwork industry.
Her career has specialized in luxurious custom cabinetry and exceptional customer service skills which have brought Nikki a refined definition of “attention to detail”. These traits became sought after by colleagues & trades in the industry and led Nikki to collaborate with many industry professionals such as: Sarah Richardson’s design team, Union31, Alterra Corporations, Reign Custom Builders and many more. She quickly became a referred designer beyond her millwork duties; all while playing the role of Senior Designer and Showroom Manager, in which she was responsible for the training and success of her Junior Designers.
Thanks to her wonderful clients, an ambitious personality, and a love for all the beautiful details that form a home, this led Nikki to invest in her decorating firm full time.
Nikki’s personal style is what she calls “tailored traditional”, where neutral foundations set the tone, and added layers bursting full of playful colours and patterns bring in personality. She believes these traits are the groundwork to creating interiors that are defined to each of her clients own styles. Nikki’s clients appreciate her efficient, perceptive and meticulous nature while working with her on design projects. She believes strongly in productivity and efficiency and her patience is known to “wear thin” when these elements are lacking (although she blames her patience on the red hair).
Nikki currently resides in Milton, Ontario with her husband Andy, her son Sebastian and their Boston Terrier who likes to think he can help with her paperwork. She enjoys playing her guitars, reading, drawing, ice cream, exercising, more ice cream and has an obsession with chairs like most women have obsessions with shoes. She is also passionate about statement case-goods and has to control her buying urges for anything french provincial that she can give a good makeover.
