I made it! I actually completed in time for my photography on Tuesday morning! Mind you, I was working on getting everything JUST right up until the final minute, but I made it.
So this past week was spent wrapping up the accessorizing, washing bedding, painting the second night stand and styling and re-styling and then styling some more. I must have moved the accessories around over a dozen times until they sat just right.
While the reveal is next week I will give you some sneak peeks of the final space. Be sure to watch my Instastories later today as well. I’m going to give you a bit of a tour of the room and some more information about the details in it! So make sure you’re following me on Instagram: @nfgdesigns
My heart literally skips a beat every time I walk into my bedroom now. It’s so calming and fresh. I love having a space that is away from the chaos of everyday life and allows me to unwind.
I think my favourite items in the room are the 2 things that were my jumping off points. I always knew I wanted coloured night stands and the patterned ‘Twinkle Time’ fabric from Robert Allen has always been one of my favourites. But wow…those night stands! You guys are commenting and messaging me like crazy about them! They are not custom. If you read Week 5 of my One Room Challenge post you will learn that they are Ikea chest of drawers that I modified by adding $13 worth of moulding, new knobs and then painted! I also went through the process on finishing them.
UPDATE: I am happy to report that the 2nd night stand went better and was not as fragile. I used a heavier grit sandpaper, put the primer on a little thicker and let every coat of paint dry overnight.
UPDATE: It’s also very obvious that my workroom pulled through for me! Huge shoutout to Custom Home Décor for finishing these 4 pillows for me in the span of 1 week to make it in time for my photography. Amazing…
Working with Stephani Buchman for the second time has also left me amazed. Her attention to detail, passion for getting the shot and capturing your vision perfectly is so flawless. I appreciate her expertise and patience and am in awe of watching her work and do her thing in the moment. It’s so much fun. I can’t wait to share her beautiful photos with you guys next week.
I had some beautiful flowers provided by my local florist, Janice over at Business is Blooming. These vandella roses smell like heaven and are so beautiful with the Rhythmic Blue paint colour on the night stand from Sherwin Williams.
Styling for photoshoots has always been challenging for me (especially for clients), but it comes to me easier when it’s for myself. Here I’ve arranged some personal jewelry with some decorative accents and a Lucite tray.
